AXIS book 2
The rewrite revision for AXIS book 2 topped out at 86.7K words, up a pleasing 20K on the first draft. It currently has 62 chapters, ranging from ~400 to ~2900 words. In a future revision I’m highly likely to split the longest scenes.
This book is now in the metaphorical drawer while I return focus to book 1.
(It’s an extremely metaphorical drawer. Both books are in the same Scrivener file, which makes it easier to keep everything consistent. So I’m occasionally tweaking both books at the same time.)
AXIS book 1
At time of writing I’m near the end of draft 4. This has been a relatively clean pass, not changing the word count significantly (about +1200 words so far), and the result will be an almost-final manuscript.
I’ve started promotion on social media. You can help by reposting, liking, commenting, and otherwise engaging — that’s what the algorithms want to see. More engagement means the algorithm shows posts to more users.

Coming next week: the title reveal! As valued readers of this website/blog/newsletter, I can confirm that I’ll announce the AXIS book 1 title here next week, along with the series title, before I post anything on social media. At the same time I’ll reveal the (draft) book description that’ll go on Amazon, and the book’s content notes. And I’ll open the book up to ARC readers, who can apply to receive a free copy before publication day in exchange for an honest review.
Miscellaneous
Some photos from a trip I took last Sunday to the Science Museum in London. They’re a mix of actual historical artifacts and things related to Star Trek – there’s a trail you can follow to see various props from the series, though not all of them original.
Please enjoy the one of me looking oddly smug in shorts in the captain’s chair. Excuse my legs.
