Site updates

Regular visitors to anthonycamber.com will have noticed a change in the home page of the site to coincide with the release of Between Two Worlds. Since I first set up the site in 2012 the home page has been the blog index, showing posts in reverse chronological order according to ancient lore.

No longer!

The posts are still there, but the blog index has moved to /blog. You’ll find a link in the header navigation.

The site’s home page now showcases my books: a big banner for Between Two Words as the most recent release, with smaller cards for the six earlier books. There’s another couple of cards at the end: one about me, and one to beg for subscribers.

This change makes book information easy to find and easy to reference on other sites: anthonycamber.com is the only link needed.

And crucially, the home page now includes purchase links for the newest book, laid out in a grid by country. It couldn’t be easier to buy that book.

I’ve also added purchase links to the Books page and given that a massive facelift (this page doesn’t have a great reason to exist now but I’ll keep it for a while). I’ve added missing links and also shown where a book isn’t available by greying out the country. (I don’t know why books aren’t available on a given site — it’s not my choice.) At time of writing I know I’m missing a few Amazon stores, such as Ireland, and I’ll get to those soon.

As before, every book has its own page, which also contains purchase links. Every book page has media files with cover and tropes images for reuse, and some metadata for the book — publication dates and ISBNs, for example. Some of this info was on the Books page before.

There’s a brand new page available from the header navigation: Press kit. This is an attempt to gather all the most pertinent information about me and my books in one easy-to-find place, in case any media people are interested. I’ve added short and long biographies of me plus a few photos, and each book has a section containing editions, ISBNs, descriptions, tropes, reviews, cover art, reviews, and so on.

This is, of course, all fed from a database no of course it isn’t. It’s all maintained by my fair hand. It should look and work fine on tablets and mobile devices. If there are any annoyances, let me know in the comments.
